Field poppy.

Oberkochen, Germany, September 10, 2013

Some time around midday my phone is ringing, my godmother is calling me. Happens quite rarely so I'm wondering what she might want. Turns out that while buying some plants for her garden she got shown this enormous field of poppies. First thing she's doing afterwards is calling me as I might be interested in photographing it. (Did I already mention that my godmother is awesome?)

Anyway, 5 minutes later I'm sitting in my car. 10 minutes later I'm parking it near the garden centre, getting weird looks by two hikers and the postman when I'm taking my camera out of the trunk and carrying it into the field. Yep, I might have looked like a maniac.

I'm spending almost half an hour in the field pictured above until I realize that she actually meant the field behind the garden centre which is even larger. Thats something for another day though. Huge thanks to my godmother!

(This happened some time in July I guess, not sure though. It took me weeks to find a solution for all these vibrant reds in the pictures when editing them in Photoshop. Combined with the harsh sun light around noon they were almost blown out.)
