On the hunt for pictures for the annual german photo contest "Blende" I was driving to Stuttgart. To the local zoo - the Wilhelma. And I am getting back with pictures of little birds, ignoring that there are exotic and beautiful animals like elephants, lions and such. How did that happen?

There is a simple explanation: The exotic that normal people love because of its fascinating nature and its "unknown" character has a flaw: In a zoo it is as photogenic as a black wall shot at  night time. Plain, boring, sometimes you even aren't able to see it.
The consequence being that the "normal" and the small stuff becomes interesting. Such as this little bird that after a lot of flapping with its wings rested for about 10 seconds on this small limb.

My special thanks to my dear Claudi without whom I never had the idea of doing a photographic session in a zoo. I hope that I can link her sometime adequately but the girl hasn't something like a portfolio yet.

I wish you a beautiful 2nd of December!
