Without Sails.

Howth, Irland, July 25, 2015

My parents, Florent - my roommate for the last year - and I are venturing along the quay in Howth. As usually a strong wind is blowing but today it's being accompanied by bright sunlight thats bouncing back from the water of the harbour basin, illuminating the houses in bright, white light. My parents are visiting Dublin for merely two days and never made it to Howth before - since this is one of my favourite spots in Ireland the destination of todays trip wasn't hard to pick.

It seems that some time in the next days a regatta or some kind of sailing competition will take place here. An armada of small sail boats - clones, almost, just differently coloured - are laying at anchor, waiting to be released into the open water. They are only missing their sails.

We will stay for a while, enjoying the great weather with squinted eyes while our hair is getting swirled by just another wind gust.
